Philanthropy Spotlight: San Diego Rapid Response Network
Whether you wear a blue tie, red tie, or any color in between, all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Period. Many families seeking economic and political asylum in the United States face harrowing living conditions at the border, which often exceed the very conditions they are trying to escape. The San Diego Rapid Response Network is a group that makes concerted efforts to improve many conditions at the border:
“The San Diego Rapid Response Network (SDRRN) is a coalition of human rights and service organizations, attorneys, and community leaders dedicated to aiding immigrants and their families in the San Diego border region.”
In October 2018, SDRRN established a migrant shelter to provide meals, medical care, legal services, and travel aid to 200 individuals. Since April 2019, operations have expanded to help over 300 asylum seekers. Funds are needed to maintain daily operations and provide the services these families desperately need. We highly encourage you to visit their website to learn more about the organization and donate what you can.
